Privacy Policy

A short policy, because this site stores almost nothing. Everything a run produces stays in your browser, and there is no account to maintain anywhere on the site.

01 What this site stores

Spacebar Clicker stores three things in your own browser: your running stats (points, all-time taps and your best CPS per input), any runs you deliberately save to the leaderboard, and the nickname you type when you save one.

That is the complete list. There is no account, no email field, no password and no profile on a server, because none of those things are needed to count how fast you press a key.

02 Where your scores live

Every score is stored locally using your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

The practical consequence is that your leaderboard is yours alone. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers, or using a private window will leave the board showing only the sample entries that ship with the site.

03 Cookies and third parties

The tool itself sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers. Fonts and icon sets are served from public content delivery networks, which may receive your IP address and user agent as part of serving the file, in the same way any website’s assets do.

If you submit the contact form, the details you type are sent to our form endpoint so a human can read and reply to them. Nothing on the tool pages is submitted anywhere.

04 Your control over local data

You can wipe everything this site has stored by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. There is no separate request to file and no account to close, because there is no account.

Because the data only exists on your device, we also cannot recover it for you if it is lost. That is the trade-off of not requiring a login, and it is one we think is worth it for a tool like this.

05 Children’s privacy

This site is designed to be usable by anyone, including school students. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and there is nothing to register for.

The only information a visitor can ever submit voluntarily is the contact form, and it is never required in order to use the tool.

06 Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the date on it will move forward. The current design is deliberately minimal, so any change would be a meaningful one.

07 Getting in touch

Questions about privacy, a leaderboard entry that looks wrong, or a feature you would like to see can all go through the contact page. Replies are usually within a couple of working days.
