Plain terms for a simple tool. Use it with your own hands, do not script it, and understand that scores are stored on your device rather than on a server we control.
01 Accepting these terms
By using Spacebar Clicker you agree to these terms. They are written to be read in one sitting, because a click speed test does not need a wall of legal text to protect it.
If you do not agree with any part of them, the simplest option is to stop using the site.
02 What the tool is and is not
This is a browser based measurement tool. It counts key presses and pointer clicks that your browser reports, and it converts them into clicks per second and a percentile estimate.
It is not a diagnostic instrument. Keyboard repeat behaviour browser timing, operating system settings and your hardware all influence the number, so results are useful for comparing your own runs rather than for making absolute claims.
03 Fair use and cheating
Auto clickers, macros, scripts, browser automation and any other method of generating presses without a human hand are not permitted. A scripted run is not a score, and it defeats the only reason the tool exists.
Hardware is fair game. A different keyboard, a lighter mouse or a better technique are all legitimate, and arguing about them is half the fun.
04 Leaderboard entries
Leaderboard entries are stored in your browser, not on a shared server. We do not moderate them, cannot edit them, and cannot restore them if your browser data is cleared.
Nicknames are visible only to you and on your own device. Please do not type anything into the nickname field that you would not want stored locally, including personal information.
05 Availability and accuracy
The site is provided as-is and free of charge, with no guarantee of uptime and no guarantee that a given score is repeatable. Percentile figures are modelled estimates based on typical score distributions for each duration.
We may change durations, adjust the model, restyle the tool or retire a feature at any time without notice.
06 Intellectual property
The design, wording and code of this site belong to us. The concept of a click speed test is not owned by anybody, and the same idea exists in many places, each with its own execution.
You are welcome to link to any page. Republishing large portions of the site’s copy or design as your own is not permitted.
07 Limitation of liability
Press keys responsibly. This site is not liable for any damage to keyboards, mice, wrists or furniture that results from enthusiastic use.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided without warranties and we accept no liability for any loss arising from its use.

Anything unclear in these terms can be raised through the contact page, and we will clarify it in plain language rather than referring you back to the same paragraph.
